We are calling for participants aged 3 – 3 ½ years or more who had parechovirus infection in the first 6 months of life resulting in a hospital admission. The long-term effects of early HPeV infection are poorly understood. New information from our research and others has identified that some infants have developmental issues and cerebral palsy (CP) after early life parechovirus infection. We are undertaking a follow-up study to understand more about the role of HPeV as a cause of CP.
